Week 2 : To Lead...To Win

Welcome back.

The second week was more exciting than first week. Do you know why? Each member get chance to lead the game. And assign roles to other teammates. After playing several times, we became familiar with the rules and methods of the game. We didn’t have to review the rules. I was the 3rd among the four members to lead the game. By the time I was leading the game, it was the fourth day of 2nd week. So I and my team mates had pretty good understanding of what went wrong, what should have been done and what was our best action.

When my turn came to lead the game, I picked myself to become the Researcher. The other three roles I chose for my team mates were the Medic, the Quarantine Specialist and the Scientist. The combination of roles we chose was flawless for the game to succeed. I and my teammates reflected on what we did wrong in previous games and tried not to repeat the mistakes.

As we began playing the game, we focused on building research stations at every city. Even though I got only two event cards in my experience of playing the game, my team mates were getting lot of event cards (maybe the cards weren’t shuffled properly), the event cards were saved for later use. I and my team mates concentrated on removing the cubes from cities and curing the disease before an outbreak occurs.

The roles were utilized by us perfectly. We shared the city cards (which were a great idea to make the game easy) which we didn’t do in the previous games. In the beginning, we cured the yellow city and soon after, the team was able to eradicate yellow city. But the blue and red cities were being filled with cubes. Things started to become anxious as we were running out of player cards. In between we could cure the blue cities. All the team mates were enthusiastic and shared ideas that came up to their mind. We were planning ahead of the game. We used the event cards at the right time. At the end we could only eradicate yellow cities but cure all the cities
